Does anybody remember when the PS3 and 360 were available for pre-order?

If I remeber correctly xbox 360 made you preorder a whole package of shyt instead of just the console. I didn't want the games they were packaging with it so I didn't preorder.

Yeah I remember, the pre order here in Toronto at EB Games was only on the packaged Xbox's. Wit the extended harddrives and package of crap games n ish. Dudes were lined up outside for hours at least 200-300 ppl deep in the line.

Then I just went to the store the next day, during the day and bought a non packaged xbox right away. Apparently each store had non packaged editions of the 360 that weren't allowed to be pre ordered.

when a price is announced that same day Gamestop starts taking pre-orders typically. half the time its not even officially in their system. i pre-ordered my Wii U and it wasn't fully set up but they were taking them. the preorder reciept had something weird on it that wasn't Wii U.

They just want your money. They'll take it now if they could. That way you have to spend it there.

The preorders aren't authorized by Sony or Microsoft. It's just a store preselling it's inventory and holding your money.

I remember ps3 was mad hard to find, and a lot of the places selling them were making people buy 'packages'. I think my homie had to drop like 8 bills to get one

i don't think console makers actually authorize any console preorders. they give the retailers set amounts of what they'll get and the retailers may or may not take preorders.

i remember i went to the mall at like 9pm and there was a lineupp around the block i was like

my boy worked at walmart at the time and was able to get one so we flipped it online for 1,200 and split the proceeds
