its a show about a rich family that went broke and is now living in a hick town named Schitts Creek

its starring the father from American Pie(forgot his name) and his son

the son is funny as hell,im surprised he hasnt gotten any other work yet

I fukk with it.

It's above average but I don't think it's scratching top tier. It's one of two Canadian comedies I watch, that and Mr. D. which is pretty good too and probably a little better.

I wouldn't go outta my way to recommend either, though.

yeah i dont think its top tier but its pretty good

i like the dry humor and the dialog is good

its better than alot of comedies that rely on over the top goofiness to get laughs

i like comedies that i can listen to while surfing the net and still laugh as much as i would if i was watching it

i actually didnt know it was a canadian show(i dont watch any live tv outside of sports & HBO) but that explains why nobody talks about it

I watched an episode of this show a year or so ago - the couple from Best in Show got caught up doing it a cabin while their adult kids were having some kind of hillbilly hotel party.
I know I laughed a couple good times (I was probably lit though, so I don't necessarily trust my laughs were sincere) and thought about catching a more episodes, but never got around to it.

Are there any recommendations on this one? Or was hillbilly hotel party the best it had to offer?

Yeah. As I've gotten older I've found myself drifting towards comedies where people say funny things, not say things in a funny way so I feel you.

I've been burning through these on Amazon. this show is hilarious. i wrote it off b/c i saw it was on some shyt called Pop in America and i didn't even - still don't - know if it's on my cable, but man, i'm glad Amazon has it. There's some amazing comedic chemistry on this show, all the characters work well off each other.

I am a big fan of the two leads but for some reason I cannot get into the show.

am i the only one who thinks Catherine O'Hara is far and away the weak link of this show? Moira is an annoying character, but people seem to love her. still a good show though. gotta catch up on this season.

I wouldn't go as far as saying she's the weak link, but sometimes it feels like she's legitimately in another show, but at other times it feels like that is intentional since she's basically a deluded lunatic actress. The people I've seen praise her more than anything are other actors (in particular actresses). I think there's something about the over-the-top-ness that appeals to them. But I could see the character being worse with a less-seasoned performer than Catherine O'Hara.

I actually think the daughter and the son are the funniest.
