Dope man, continuing from your other thread, this is a great way to get your skills up.

I actually did the same thing back when I was starting.

By doing this you can build a nice portfolio to show off when the time comes.

You should def do it in Pro Tools tho cause all studios use Pro Tools.

If you can get your hands on the Waves Plugins, Slate Digital, and Auto Tune, you should be good to go.

Random question but where are you based out of?

Also, If you use Pro Tools, I'll shoot you my mixing templates for vocals, and also for beat mixing so you can play with that. My go to plugins for the vocal bus track is RCompressor, SSLChannel, and I do a Send on each audio track for the Reverb, and Delay.

If you need help learning how to make Bus/Send Route tracks, I can help with that.

You can shoot me a pm if you need any help, I can def share a lot of knowledge.

I can also send you some work so you can practice (I dont need it mixed but just so you can practice)

I thought it would be a good idea, I meant to ask you.... I found some multis online I'm gonna work on those

I usually work out of FL ....but I downloaded Pro tools free so I'm gonna start working on that... just get use to flow and like you were saying prepare or get as much experience using the tools that will most likely be in an actual studio

Breh I really need help with compression, like I understand certain concepts like long attack = more transient , short release - more movement /less decay/ body...together the two are supposed to create punch in the mix , when used as creative technique, but I'm just not hearing.....

Also with master-bus compression, I've been contemplating setting release to actual tempo , would that even make sense or is better to go with feel ....

I have so many questions breh :wow:

Imma hook you up with a few of my mixing sessions (vocal sessions). Imma email it to you.

As far as compression goes, I stay away from using a compressor on the master track, it will really limit the loudness of the kick and bass for a beat, so instead I compress that in its own respective track.

For the master I use Izoptope Ozone, or Waves L3 Ultramaximizer and I bring down the the threshold to about -3.1 and I keep the limiter at -0.3db so that the signal does not clip.

For compression I use RCompressor, for vocals I usually put the attack anywhere between 2.00 and 3.95, ratio at 3.5, and threshould at the lowest the signal goes in between words. Then I raise the gain to the levels I want. For this technique I throw the RComp on the Vocal Bus. Then I throw in a Delay and a Reverb as a send.

I'll get in more detail when I send the sessions.

The song is about the woman who claimed that 2Pac "raped" her. 2Pac's telling it all. The fact that it's unreleased and 2Pac's talking in so much detail it deserves to be heard in all it's glory.

Here is the song completely ripped from the master reel BUT since it's been ripped from the master reel therefore, all the layers of the track are separate so I need someone who has good audio editing skills to stick this song back together again and apply some equalisation techniques so that the instrumental doesn't drum out the vocals.

The files are lossless so please when editing the track save it as lossless so the file doesn't get degraded, please.

If you could please make alternate EQ mixes.

No fan remixes please, just mix-down the layers of the track and equalise them is all that I want - nothing more.


  1. I would like one audio file of everything mixed-down as is (no equalisation applied) -- just the original layers of the track mixed down with no tinkering.
  2. Then all the versions of the track that you'd have mixed down and equalised if you could make more than one so I can choose which one is best.
