Do you watch wrestling for promos or matches?

The probable answer for most is probably both.

But IF you had to choose one, which would it be?

Personally, what appeals to me is character work. It can be promos, entrances, the way wrestlers walk to the ring, etc.

As I'm getting older, I'm getting more and more into matches.

I tried to come up with an all-encompassing word for that aspect of wrestling so I used "character work" lol.

But yeah, I feel like we're in a time now where more people watch for sheer wrestling than any other era.

Matches by default at this point

The post match njpw interviews are cool. They talk like adult men but im satisfied with the matches

In WWE they're handcuffed to scripts so its hard to get excited about promos

LU the focus is on in ring action in the first place

I watch for entertainment.

That's why I enjoy watching lesnar wrecking havoc, the rock promos, taker theatrics, etc.

My biggest gripe with today's product is a lot of these dudes(mostly vanilla midgets) have forgotten what that entertainment value was about because they wanna get their sh!t in(ala flips & dropkicks).

Depends on the performer, tbh.

A guy like Miz, I'm mostly there for the promos (though he can put on a decent to good match). Someone like Sami Zayn, matches.

And of course, I'm always down for some fukkery.

I watch for both. If I only cared about one or the other, I'd probably only watch UFC and action movies.

Wrestling is the only medium where you can get both promos and matches every week, while the other two mediums I mentioned make you wait at least 12 times a year to see it.
