Do you think this coming gen will be the last gen for consoles?

ok, so i have been seeing alot of comments saying this will be the last gen for console gaming. initially it seemed folks was saying nintendo was out of touch and will become a software company for the other two, then i see people saying Sony is already in the hole and PS4 manufacturing costs are going to put them too far in the red, im also seeing alot of folks saying MS dont really care about gaming and are trying to move on to the next stage of entertainment systems and Xbox will be their last console.

do you agree or is it just the same doom and gloom shyt we always get during the launch of new generations?

I never really heard about the talk of consoles dying out recently so I don't think it's "the same doom and gloom". Still, I don't think consoles are going away. It's more that they're being redefined. They're not just game-playing machines anymore and they can't just be game-playing machines. I think we'll see more and more marketing of the set-top box aspect of these consoles.

If you look at the financial records, you can see today that there will be no sony/nintendo come next gen unless they join forces.
Japan has ran out of ideas for the most part, the style of game that is popular over there is either the same JRPG's or some weirdo Sex related dating sim
They make more than that, but what is dominating over there?
So they losing touch due to perversion

Now they gotta compete with other systems around the world. So Japan in particular, if they don't change it up and be successful when they try?
Well, gaming systems from that region will struggle cuz the rest of the world ain't paying them for bullshyt. In the past, we had no choice

So this gen will determine who stays, who goes. If the Wii-u continues to fail, and nobody cares to buy it/or the new games cuz ps4/720 games are soooo much more popular? Then Nintendo is gone. If the PS4 doesn't catch on and falls FARTHER behind the xbox brand? There won't be a PS5

Xbox is making stuff for everybody, and only ps3 gamers who are mad say they don't care bout gaming. Numbers say otherwise tho...

theres folks saying sony gaming is only going to lose them money if they dont get a good start and that MS dont give a fukk about gaming and are moving to all round entertainment. add to that casual gamers have other much cheaper options for their needs and hardcore gamers have other options too this time around. thats what im asking about, just where people think the console gaming industry will be after this gen.

of course its hard to say what the industry will be like in 5 years time. its completely speculative

harcore console gamers dont have other options other then ps4 or next Xbox, Nintendo has tranished theyself wit hardcore gamers and will keep trying to catch the casual, which u right has other options, never will a gaming PC be more popular or played in the gaming community

Most people will never buy a pc that high, and then they will never upgrade hardware year after year cause they not confident wit opening they PC , I see all 3 surviving, I think Nintendo next console will be more hardcore because I think they will easily come in third place this Gen
