Do you think the next war will be fought based on tech alone?

When your drones ain't charging because your power grid gets shut down what's the plan?

If EMPs can be released to scramble the systems of your jets or to redirect your missiles.... :patrice:

How are you going to get a united fighting force when your country can't even agree on whether you're at war and who the enemy is because their brains are being scrambled by algorithms and propaganda? :lupe:

Are we actually at war and losing but we won't realize until it's over? :jbhmm:

No. If you mean a war involving the US.

While we have tech that could wipe out literally any other country in a non-allied war, we will always have a place for boots on the ground.

There will always be a need or use for conventional warfare with actual boots on the ground and human involvement, in this current era with several nations with nuclear weapons and long range missile capability a lot of care and restraint before going into war especially if it involves other huge powers, and the best way to likely reduce military and civilian casualties on both sides is with actual troops

Tech alone? No I don't think so probably will be some chemical/bio engineering going on too.

No this is a mistake peacetime generals always make. They get too excited about new tech Then find out some bumpkin farmer with a CB tuned to the right frequency can disrupt your whole drone fleet.

I would suggest that soldiers are also employees and all their equipment, transport etc are HUGE markets, even more so in countries with significant numerous armies (the US, Russia, China, Turkey etc) and that they themselves (through their representatives) hold huge political power. What I'm saying is that a war is not only about defeating your enemy but also about feeding your own people and keeping a market working.

Flying Drones are here to stay, but there's already a counter-measure for them.

I'm saying tho

If the general is too busy thinking his fellow citizens are about to rebel against the government, will he have the means to prepare for war with a foreign adversary?

Information is a weapon in war. What's to stop Russia from continuing to inflame racial, economic, and other tension here through the use of online trolls, stochastic terrorism etc.?

They don't need to fire a single shot when their opponent is literally too divided to form up and attack. What's the plan if some squads will obey orders while others will refuse them? What's the plan if the people getting trained on how to operate drones can't agree on the basics of how the technology even works because of influencers spreading bullshyt online?

And with the prospect of realistic deep fakes, what is the counter measure when your communication devices are giving you orders that your superiors did not actually make, but you believed them because the voice sounded realistic enough while you were in the heat of battle?
