Do you think The Flash (movie) would've been successful (or at least broke even) under different circumstances?

The Flash movie is considered one of the biggest flops of all time considering the time and budget and production history.

But if we're being honest, the movie came out in the WORST possible circumstances -

-The whole Ezra Miller situation
-We were still coming out of the pandemic and people weren't really going to movies like that
-The universe he was in was dying out anyway

So let's say none of that happened and the movie came out pre-pandemic (say 2019 or 2020). Do you think it still would've flopped as bad? Would it have just done aight? Or would it have actually been successful?

Honesty I think it would've done at least ok. The movie itself wasn't bad IMO, it was maybe 3-3.5/5.

Too much bad press with Ezra, plus negative word of mouth with the godawful cgi

If it came out in early 2019, it might have had a chance alongside Aquaman and Joker making a billi, but that's not a guarantee

I really enjoyed it but I feel like they could've went more crazy with the whole multiverse angle. Warner Brothers has the rights to all dc characters from every movie, TV show etc. there should've been more characters from different universes. But I still enjoyed it tho. That ending at the supermarket was just too much for me... Made a nikka tear up hard lol
