Do you think Sony will bring back Playstation Home?

All this talk of PSVR2 and Sony now bringing back the idea of collectible digital items and trophies makes me think they will have a space where you can display them for people to see. I think PS Home will be that place to expand the playstation community stuff, like people viewing your trophies, avatars, and chat spaces. This would probably be the space where they launch the multimedia events like Epic does, concerts, sporting events, theme parks, etc.

I lowkey feel like the only reason sony is continuing to invest in VR is because they see it as their direct line to the sacred ‘metaverse’. They would be the only company that has the user base, the technology, and the software to support it. It almost seems like a no brainer with how popular VRCHAT is that Sony wouldn’t launch PSVR2 with it.

With their purchase of Bungie for the purpose of observing their F2P practices, a case can be made.

The iron is still hot for this market, so I don't see why they wouldn't.

At least now half the shyt they promised back in the 2000s is technically feasible today. Like hooking up in Home as a party and launching into a game's MP that way.

More or less. They held a few virtual concerts there, IIRC. I know one of them was in Japan with Hatsune Miku.

Now that they have their own dedicated VR headset, there's really no reason for them not to bring it back, provided their bean counters can crunch the numbers right.

Yea, it kinda was. I only played it a few times unfortunately. It was kinda dope but it wasn't a whole lot to do. If I'm not mistaken they had little minigames but aside from that and watching little videos it wasn't much

The potential is thier and with the diffrent tiers of psplus It would be a good incentive if say the higher tiers allowed you to watch sony movies or netflix/crunchyroll/youtube with friends in vr or not. Or they could also expand thier party chat like options with ps home like joining a spotify or apple music like room with friends
