Do you think MCU Doom is going to constantly be taking his mask off?

I generally like Tom Holland and MCU Spidey.

But that said it always struck me as silly that he would just take his mask of all the time, for no reason other than to make scenes more dramatic. Even when he was supposed to have a "secret" identity. Like during Infinity War dude barely ever had his mask on.

Which brings us to Doom. In the comics, most versions of Doom are rarely seen unmasked. It gives gravitas to the character and it's scarier not knowing exactly how his face looks.

But...Doom is being played by RDJ and it's hard to imagine Disney wanting to pay him all that money to wear a mask 90% of the time. But still, it would seem lame for Doom to be taking his mask off every time he wants to have a dramatic scene. It's one thing for Tony Stark, being a playboy and all that, but it's just not in character for Doom, at least in the comics. Part of his character is that he hates being seen without his mask.


So I'm not sure how they'll go with that? They just gonna have Doom taking off his mask every time he wants to say something or are they going to be okay with RDJ's face rarely being shown?

As far as big wig execs are concerned, RDJ's return to an Avengers movie is the selling point. I don't think they'd care if he was Doom, Kang, or the Beyonder. They wanted him back and gon make sure ppl know he's in that bytch lol

However they do it, just gotta accept that the films and shows will never be a direct retelling of the comics. Best to go in with the expectation that you will hopefully be entertained by the final product, and not to audit it against the source material.

Given that it's Hollywood, will be at least one arc where he either gets disfigured or he goes through a process to get his looks back.

But Master Chief and Boba Fett and The Mandalorian - "need" to show a face in order to "act".

Yeah, RDJ's Doom is going to be maskless frequently. Disney is paying him a ton of money (because they're banking on people showing up to SEE him), and RDJ does have a bit of an ego.

I really wish that they chose a different actor for Dr. Doom, preferably a lesser-known Central or Eastern European actor, but I can't do anything about it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have RDJ unmasked for 99,9% of the movie and only "reveal" his mask in the final scene.

And then in the Avengers movies we see him masked no longer than what he showed as Iron Man. As @Primetime said, Disney spent too much money on the guy to not have him show his face as much as humanly possible.

The only shot we got at a "real" Doom depiction is whatever happens after Secret Wars.

The interpretation of Dr.doom I like his that his face is fine except for a small scar. That is why he hides his face.
