Do you tell your kids the original Santa had a a black slave / servant called Zwarte Piet? They still celebrate this in the origin of this European fairy tale in Netherlands and Belgium.

Or it doesn't matter you should still pass on these white fables to your black children because of Christmas spirit and innocence of youth?

I didn't actually know black mothers and fathers upholded this cac tradition with such zest.

i dont think the blackface is necessary. apparently their faces are black because santas elves go down chimneys and the soot darkens their faces. this dutch tradition is uneccessary though.

Christmas is celebrated in a great portion of the world. When it comes to the lore of christmas fantasy, any detail beyond santa, rudolph, the elves, and gifts, is basically irrelevant for the vast majority of earth. Hell even those characters aren't even relevant everywhere. Something that is only relevant in 2 European countries where there are bound to be racist cacs who will find any reason to go in blackface containing some fukkshyt does not surprise me.

There are countries where the majority of the population is black and they celebrate Christmas but the people on thecoli can't for some reason. I can at least understand @Reinscarf and others who won't celebrate it because of it being pagan or people who are straight up like fukk christmas

"It was a long time ago, get over it, its not relevant anymore" I hear you bro.

Im not talking about christmas that is celebrated worldwide.

I'm talking about Santa Claus in particular, the fairytale that is popular amongst predominantly western European descendants and their aspirants.

Swarthy Pete also was a Moor. The story goes that if children misbehave Pete will kidnap them, bring them back to Spain, and do all types of fukkery to them :mjpls:

These cacs love telling us to stop living in the past and let shyt go but they sure cant let go of the moors conquering them for 700 years

Traditionally Zwarte Piet's face is said to be black because he is a Moor from Spain.[citation needed] Today, some prefer to say that his face is blackened with soot because he has to climb through chimneys to deliver gifts for Sinterklaas.

Is there anyone from the netherlands posting here? Are there even black people in the Netherlands? I live at least 9 hours away from there by an airplane. You want my future kids to hear "we can't celebrate Christmas because racist cacs in a country across the pacific ocean have a racist portrayal of a moor in their version of saint nick that nobody on our non-European continent follows "

Really breh? I agree that their particular rendition is bad but it isn't relevant anywhere except their country
