bret vs austin is way more important than the montreal screwjob

you sound like you like conrad/bruce prichard podcasts
Nah. I just watched the Montreal Screwjob on YouTube and one of the comments said those 3 were the most important in wrestling history. I’m just wondering if TSC agrees.

I disagree with that one and I disagree with Hogan/Andre

Hogan/Andre was a big match, no doubt, but Hogan and WWF were already made long before that. as far as importance goes you could very easily argue the first wrestlemania main event was far more important than Hogan/Andre.

I do agree that there is something to the Bash at the Beach match and what it did for WCW/the Monday Night Wars tho

Koalabama and the Cosmos
Let me throw some game in this piece:

  1. R.44e415a11aa1e320f3a5dd7ec911779a
This match is responsible for bringing legitimacy to professional wrestling as a whole. No flippy shyt, no sports entertainment storylines, just straight up prize fighting shyt that felt surreal and probably the best match I have ever seen and this is going from the NWA days to the Dub days. Square biz.
  2. 1030090936.jpg
This was the shyt that put DDT on the map. Crazy ass Kota Ibushi going through a entire abandoned apartment just beating ass dealing with fukkery that would entertained our kids kids by the campfire.
  3. blood-guts-aew-dynamite-cell.png
This match was needed during the pandemic. Promotions including the Dub were doing cinematic matches, but this is what the streets needed. Despite the shytty ending, this entire match made me a semi believer in AEW despite the foolishness that makes my fur stand up.

and thinking about this more, you can equally argue Hogan vs. Sting at 97 Starrcade and how it signified the beginning of the end in WCW as just as important as the Bash at the Beach match, I think I'd still lean Bash for importance sake but...

WCW wise Sting/Hogan and Fingerpoke of Doom are both up there as far as negative importance goes lol.
