If they keep supporting the PS4 as they did with the PS2 once the PS3 came out, i can see this happening. If you dont count portable consoles , its already the 2nd best selling console of all time.

No, I don't think Sony will ever match the PS2's total sales.

probably not...they need to sell almost 50M more units

only way I can see it catching up is if PS5 is slow out the gate (as far as games and features) and too expensive AND the PS4 sees a significant price drop...drop the PS4 slim to about $199

I think it will. It’s currently tracking well over PS2 at the same time frame and Sony hasn’t cut the price for a long time so there’s room for another price cut and more sales.
It has a phenomenal game library so will be a great value for those who’ll find the PS5 too expensive and not enough games to justify buying it. Lots of people in developing countries will buy it if they cut the price driving more sales.

Also Damn at that Xbox One sales. Woat console in a long time :scust:

ps4 been out six years now. ps2 was out for just as long until the ps3 dropped but still had major games like god of war ii and persona 4 releasing. i dont see the ps4 or any other system catching up.

also im really surprised the ps3 sold more units than the 360. i always thought the 360 dominated that generation (considering the wii had so many gimmick purchases from non-gamers)
