And now he's possibly going to be second in line to lead the free world.

He has been a rising star in the Republican Party for a while now and anyone who is wonkish about politics should have a pretty good idea of who the guy is and what his policies are. Its not like the GOP has been trying to hide him from the world at large or anything. He has been one of the most visible Repubs in Congress for a minute.

He's not as loud and wrong as Palin was last time. He's avoided many mistakes that led to Palin getting smashed by people.
