bourne is not a trilogy if the 4th movie is about to come out

I'm not gonna speak on others but the 3 movies are definitely a trilogy. It has a beginning and end. The new movie is the start of a new story (note I didn't say a new universe, just a new story).

Similarly, the Star Wars saga consists of two trilogies.

yes I know star wars is considered 2 seperate trilogies but die hard is not officially considered a trilogy same goes for the other movies I mentioned

One more point, most definitions of trilogies are as vague as this one:

A group of three related novels, plays, films, operas, or albums.

I think the first 3 Bourne movies are widely considered a trilogy.

So you argue that Nolan's 3 films are a trilogy, but fail to accept that the 3 Bourne films are a trilogy? The themes and stories both span 3 films.

I think his argument is that it is not a trilogy anymore because of the upcoming Bourne flick that continues the story and features characters from the previous three.
