we all can pretty much agree that dj quik is one of the best hip hop producers of all time but there's always the "he's the second best in the west" treatment he gets and he gets demoted to only bein' a great west coast producer but fukk all that, quik is one of the best from coast to coast

he's produced for and worked with pac, dr. dre, snoop, nate dogg garry shider of parliament funkadelic, el and james debarge, rick james, janet jackson, whitney houston, jay z, eazy-e/penthouse players clique, tony! toni! tone'!, and bunch of other legendary artists

the score work he did for chris rock's "head of state" film is underrated as fukk too

(same lyrics as "hand in hand" just with a different beat and nate dogg on the hook)

shock is first off the strength he mastered the analog sound and a son of the P..and always in the terms of George Clinton and James Brown..took it back to the 1


and when i say the one..is knowin when and where to lay the perfect bridge in a song

1:36...george nem learned from bootsy...and this the perfect song to explain it..

dre next because...he mastered every sound put in front of em..dre is a chamleon...dre is the only producer without a signature sound...when he came out..he was on that disco shyt..nwa he jacked public enemy sound..n gave it a west coast feel..the whole reason...why cube went got hank nem for amerikkkas most wanted..

pe sound died..he got in the lab with hutch from above the law n learned origin of g-funk...tinkered with it on the last nwa album...n mastered it on the chronic..

got with em mel man n storch....and mastered that for 2001

plus he had access to the best studios...n learned the bigger boards...not like shock nem...dre was one step of head...if dre had his own sound...he would be in front of shock n shock would be 2..


quik...made something out of nothin..he is back seat only beacuse..profile blackballed him..when eazy n ruthless came knockin...if eazy never offered to by quik off..he would been able to spread his wings n get heard...quik was limited while on profile..to local jokers and his homeboys,,

quik didnt get to see work until suge got involved with his profile deal...then quik...started gettin out...helpin daz on dogg food...all the death row projects after doggystyle... shaqs album..etc

premo sound is wack...is simple as shyt...premo imo is overrated...

he did street gospel in 28 days after meeting suga free..n stay ready got free a deal..n a ft on a soundtrack..then the album dropped 3months later

quik make shyt happen..in his garage..

all free had was a flock of asian hoes n a 8ball..n im not talkin bout beer..made that album on coke n asian hoes
