Discussion That Needs To Be Had: Old Ass, :trash: ass movies in shows being overrated

I'm sorry, there's no reason why old ass trash ass movies from the 40s, 50s and some before that, should be rated so high in comparison to movies in the modern day with new and improved levels of dialogue/diversity etc.

Who the hell wants to watch a million movies with nothing but white people

I watched this movie called Rear Window last night with my girl. And I damn near fell asleep like this shyt is soooooooo trash.

I go to see the reviews and I'm like how ???

And I'm not someone who just gives anything that's from previous generations undeserved hate.

But man

and these old ass movies with no diversity have 9/10 4/4 all this bullshyt like those movies aren't even good


Muhfukkas be pretending that the Old Godzilla/Planet Of The Apes movies

With Legos and people walking arround in Gorilla suits and shyt is better than what we have today. How?

Sure, people tend to over rate old movies and non hollywood movies.
I watched star wars last year, even though i liked the movies, i still felt that the story was a tad eh... and the acting was not that great. But i could see why ppl in the 70s were blown away by those movies. (those special effects looked amazing to them)
It's not fair to compare old and new movies based on special effects
With all that being said...... How the fukk can you not like Rear Window

There are a lot of flicks from every era that are overrated because of the decade they came out in. Whether it's the golden age of hollywood (the shyt you're talking about) or the 80s. But with that said, there are legitimately great flicks from that era. Rear Window is on point, I don't see how anyone couldn't like it but it's taste I guess. I mean we're not a monolith; I'm sure there were people living in that era who didn't fukk with some movies that we call classics today. So name some other flicks and let's hash it out breh
