I'm not old enough to have been around for the prime G.I Joe/Transformers era, so I'm legit jealous of the generation that got to grow up with this. We still had Toonami though, so I'm grateful to have been able to live through that.

Getting back to the point, this makes you really miss the days back when people writing children's properties actually understood what a hero and a villain is. Nowadays everybody is in such a rush to out-Watchmen one another, so they don't understand the hero's journey, and they can't comprehend any kind of storytelling with an actual moral compass. Too many fanfiction writers running the business.

These days it feels like kids don't have any real heroes anymore. Their only role models are YouTubers and rappers :mjcry:
