I never knew this but apparently the song is about her and not Kim or just a made up story like I thought :ohhh:Sh cheated on him or they had an open relationship and he couldn't handle it.

It's evident in the part about him saying
"My ex says she gave me the best years of her life,
I saw a recent picture of her, I guess she was right"

According to Genius he was speaking about how he would drive 30 hours from Chicago to LA and back to see her.

He mentions her again back in the day on the song "Never Let Me Down",

The story goes that he promised her father he would marry her on his death bed.
