3rd Bass was dope IMO. I wasn’t old enough to listen to them when they were poppin but as corny and try-hard as Serch is, it seems like he got enough respect back in the day to be in Latin Quarters and shyt like that without too much trouble, he def would have been one of the very few white boys in there at that time. I like the first album, never really listened to Derelicts Of Dialect. The thing that blew my mind was finding out that Zev Love X was X Evolves backwards and DOOM thought of that when he was young AF, thought of himself and brothers as evolutions of Malcolm X. That MC Serch podcast is pretty dope so far.

The Cactus Album is a classic.

One of the first albums I copped with my own money as a kid. They had the serious all-star production lineup back then too. Sam Sever, The Bomb Squad and Prince Paul. I remember Cube saying that when he started thinking about doing a solo, he called around "to find the producers who did 3rd Bass's shyt." They were certified in the late 80's. Marley Marl was trying to do an album with them too, but only knocked out remixes for them, in the end. They were definitely a dope group when they dropped. Back when Def Jam couldn't lose.

fukk 3rd bass and especially search. I thought their music was dope, but I couldn't stand those mfers. Still today I hate that lying ass Serch. Every interview Serch is lying trying to make himself look like some kind of gangsta godfather. Pete doesn't bother me that much and Daddy Rich was dope on the tables, it's just Serch that bothers me.I hate that white boy.

Classic Hip Hop. They should have kept it together in the 90s, then they would be undisputed legends rather than a cult group.

The problem was they weren't really friends, I think Russell or somebody? put them together, so once they had issues, there was no foundation to fall back on.

KMD are featured on the 2nd album as well:
