specificly the music in the third verse of "a queens story". i was rocking out to some latin soul and this shyt came on and just hit me. the keys are very similar, maybe they replayed it but if he used this he filtered out some of the other shyt.

check around 1:55. sounds just like it to me.

i always thought it was from some classical music though, maybe these guys are replaying something else. i couldn't find anything about the sample online. am i correct or am i buggin?

It was supposed to be like a mock film score/soundtrack (mock because its not for a film)

nah i know he sampled his own instrumental from the other joint, but i mean, did he use this track for that instrumental?

infact, i just listened to the original "queens story" instrumental and the third verse beat switch isn't on there and thats specifically what im refering to.

I doubt it... it doesn't sound like something you would have to sample

They're standard piano flourishes

I don't have the Nas song on me to check but I think if they sound alike that's just a coincidence

If it was a main melody or something then I would think otherwise but standard up and down ish on a keyboard... nah

I went back and listened closely to that fourth Nas verse

(timed links... couldn't embed or they wouldn't work)

Alright you convinced me... :smugdraper:

If it wasn't for that progression I would've said it was a coincidence :ehh:

it actually is from a classical song, chopin
Chopin - Revolutionary Etude
you might also remember it being sampled in this "classic" late 90's joint (mainly for the rza beat and ghostface guest appearance)Charli Baltimore - Stand Up ft. Ghostface Killah
that latin joint just interpolated it.. :manny:

and there it is, i thought it was some classic shyt, but i couldn't find anything specifically about it. i just heard the latin joint and bugged out cause how similar it sounded. i thought maybe they was replaying some old shyt too
