Nah it didn't really bug me...although it may be because my bias against Supes.

I did like the "explanation" they gave in JLU why he probably didn't use all of his powers to their fullest though.

Shouldn't Super be slower simply by because of his proximity to kryptonite? He doesn't have to know it's there for it to weaken him.

I think he keeps it in a lead (which blocks the effects of Kryptonite) container on his belt so it won't hurt Superman anytime they're in the same room.

So for it to hurt Supes he'd at least have to pull it out.

Its like usain bolt being the fastest runner. That's one thing. It's another thing to be the fastest runner on a path that's not a gentle arc. Fastest runner when a friend just got attacked and you're frantic. Fastest runner being chased by someone as fast as you, that won't hesitate to kill an innocent if you don't keep your head in the game and get caught slippin. Fastest runner when you just woke up 2 seconds ago. Fastest runner when fighting someone that can outsmart you. Fastest runner when your enemy slipped a poison that nerfed you agility. Fastest runner in a foreign domain. Fastest runner when you've been running for an hour. Just cause you clock a certain upper limit for a superpower doesn't mean you'll exert that in every instance...

The producers purposely made him less powerful than he is in the comics because their wouldn't be much of a show if he was as powerful in the comics & could take down villians so easily.

It's just case of PIS (Plot Induced Stupidity). Writers have to keep things interesting otherwise a Superman maximized at full potential would dust most of his villains

This. I own the DVD set for the entire series, the producers acknowledge this in the special features/commentaries.

That was only in the movie. Also time travel always has unintended consequences.

what that show did for superman's rogue gallery

batman gets all the praise but when you chop it down supes top tier villains were all right there. luthor, darkseid and brainiac were all GOAT worthy.
