There is evidence to suggest that those with high I.Q.s stay up later and sleep later.

Researchers from the London School of Economicshave found that people with high I.Q.s are more likely to be night owls, whereas folks with lower I.Q.s are more likely to wake up early and function their best during the day. Other studies have found a link between “eveningness” and getting good grades in school.

However, all is not well with those who burn the midnight oil. People who are disposed to staying up late are less reliable and more likely to suffer from depression and various addictions when compared to early risers. :sadbron:

So maybe the old adage should just be early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy.

sounds pretty accurate just think of the things that being up late normally involves like having alot of isolation or doing destructive things which is probably why alot of the people that are night owls are depressed

they are just doing whatever they like and that could be gettin drunk off their asses or on social media sites trying to get friends just a couple examples

but when the rest of the city is sleep these same people are still up learning and reading and taking note of whats going on in the world and thats keeping them a few steps ahead of the pack with what they know wether it be for work or for personal interest

My girl literally has a genius iq and sleeps in and stays up late...


I on the other hand... dont belive in space or dinosaurs... and I got to bed at 10 lol

I stay up late all the time and my IQ 129, which means i'm not very smart.

Sometimes I have to wake-up really early, and I just can't go to sleep... I end up with only 3 to 4 hours of sleep. it takes a huge toll on my health.

Sometimes I have to wake-up really early, and I just can't go to sleep... I end up with only 3 to 4 hours of sleep. it takes a huge toll on my health.

Being "intelligent" is actually somewhat synonymous with being unhealthy or at risk for developing other diseases, due to the abnormal hours of full consciousness, as well as other things, smart people tend to do. Also it states, that more likely not all.

There's more than one way to go about measuring intelligence, and most people only get test on two.(linguistics & logical-mathematics )

As evidenced in the podcast, I'd venture to say your IQ is rather high. Which would make you're alot smart than most people previously projected. You may not fully understand politics, but you have a firm understanding of science(probably math too).

Also, some more food for thought I came across.

The smarter the person, the faster information zips around the brain, a UCLA study finds.

DTI scans of the 92 participants in the study revealed a clear link between brain speed and intelligence.

"When you say someone is quick-thinking, it's genuinely true," Thompson says. "The impulses are going faster and they are just more efficient at processing information, and then making a decision based on it."


thinking is like running or weightlifting. It helps to have certain genes. But anyone can get stronger or faster by working out.

The brain is like a muscle, Haier says: "The more you work it the more efficient it gets."

So people who practice the violin, or do math problems, or learn a foreign language are constantly strengthening certain pathways in their brains.

And Thompson notes that our brains, unlike our bodies, peak relatively late in life.

what if you're just lazy. i have an average IQ and I sleep from 2am til 12pm if given the chance. I dont feel like doing shyt til around 6pm

Sounds about right, I stay up til between 1 and 2 gettin high. It does slow my productivity and I do have some issues with depression/anxiety. I know exactly what i have to do get better, going to bed late and getting high are the foundation of my life problems. I've shown some improvement over the past week, going to bed a little earlier. But this has been a problem for over 3 years now and at times earlier in my life too. Im 25 now and Im finally nearing the point where I think ill overcome this. Im very disciplined during the day time and Im throwing all that away by putting poison into my body at night time. I also only smoke cigarettes at night time, i have about 4 a night except friday nights where i get high, drink and smoke almost a full of newports one hunnids
