When he killed Sidious, why didn't he just force pull Luke's light saber and cut off his head or stab him through the back instead of grabbing him and received the full force of lightning to throw him down the shaft? I don't know why someone would grab a live electrical source to stop it when there is another option to do so, unless they were either dumb or had a death wish. When he snapped back to being Anakin was there an instant realization of his horrendous acts for two decades and that he didn't want to go on after he destroyed his master?

Really, how could he just go on after that and just resume his life as Anakin Skywalker if he survived? I don't think anyone in the galaxy other than Luke and maybe Ahsoka could just forget about the years of terror and thousands, if not millions of lives he was responsible for taking and just say "Ok, he's good now.":stopitslime: And Anakin himself would very likely be in ongoing depression

From the novelization:

"At that instant, Vader sprang up and grabbed the Emperor from behind, pinning Palpatine's upper arms to his torso. Weaker than he'd ever been, Vader had lain these last few minutes, focusing his every fiber of being on this one, concentrated act - the only action possible; his last, if he failed. Ignoring pain, ignoring his shame and his weaknesses, ignoring the bone-crushing noise in his head, he focused solely and sightlessly on his will - his will to defeat the evil embodied in the Emperor.

The Emperor would have sensed/foreseen those acts (using the Force against him). Besides, neither Vader nor Luke were in any shape to go heads up with the Emperor using the Force.

I'm not sure how using the Force to grab Luke's lightsaber would've helped. Palpatine certainly would've noticed that and electrocuted Vader anyway.

But I think Vader had a death wish anyway. This is a man who lost all of his natural limbs, had everything burned off (if you know what I mean), can't breathe on his own (because his lungs were scorched), can't hear on his own (because his eardrums melted), can barely see on his own (he needs the mask to filter light because his eyes are damaged), and is now trapped in painful iron lung for the rest of his life.

All this after betraying everyone he's ever known, plunging the entire galaxy into tyranny and mass murdering thousands of people to save his wife...only for her to die anyway and for him to end up a cripple.

He probably gradually came to realize that he made some terrible choices and even if only subconsciously wanted to make up for them.

It wouldn't have been fun hanging out with the emperor, although hes easily the best star wars character.

That Vader/Sidious movie needs to happen before it's too late. The fukkery...

Vader is by far the most interesting character in the Star Wars universe. I always argue that it’s a combination of the Jedi Council/Yoda who are really at fault for Anakin’s downfall.

I don't really agree...some of their decisions were questionable (for example not saving his mother) but Anakin is responsible for his own actions.

Nothing the Jedi Council did, nor him being worried about his wife dying justifies him becoming a mass murderer and killing thousands and thousand of people. If he didn't agree with the Jedi he could've just left the order instead of fukking up the galaxy for everybody.
