Been rewatching it and damn, dude just couldn't catch a break. I'm talking Ls on top of Ls, and even when he gets a W it ends up turning into an L by the end of the episode.
Dude barely got any wins this season, and the few he did get were overshadowed by bigger Ls.
- Couldn't close the black hole from Season 1 and Ronnie had to sacrifice himself to stop it, so now he's all depressed and shyt. Not to mention that he also couldn't stop Thawne and Eddie had to sacrifice himself to do it. Not to mention that the black hole was Barry's fault anyway for trying to go back in time and save his mom. Basically the world would've been better off if he'd stayed his ass at home that day.
- STAR Labs security and people just walking in whenever they want (including the villain of the season)
- His dad finally getting out of prison...and then leaving the city an episode later
- Having to get saved from King Shark by Wells
- When Zoom beat the shyt out of him and crippled him, and then paraded his body around the city and he had to be saved by Cisco. Seriously that's probably the worst asswhooping I've ever seen a superhero take.
- How his whole relationship with Patty ended (though that was mostly a self-inflicted and completely unnecessary L)
- Wells stealing his speed without him knowing it
- Reverse Flash returns and Barry finally manages to catch him...but then he has to release him like an hour later to avoid fukking up the timeline
- His ridiculous plan to impersonate his Earth-2 self. Needless to say he gets Earth-2 Joe killed and ends up captured by Zoom. And he has to be rescued again...
- Makes a shrine in memory of "Jay Garrick" not knowing he's actually Zoom
- Not being able to beat the female speedster (she actually ended up killing herself, Barry might as well have stayed home)
- His ridiculous "Go back in time and ask Thawne how to get faster" plan. Suffice it to say Thawne figures out what's going on in about an hour, not to mention Barry now has a Time Wraith after him.
- After all that time Barry spent trying to get fast enough to beat Zoom, it doesn't work and Zoom just steals his speed an episode later (in fact he gave it to him on some dumb shyt)
- Then Zoom uses Barry's speed to kidnap Caitlin and kill a bunch of cops, and Barry can't do shyt about it
- And speaking of Zoom, the fact that he tricked Barry all season with his Jay Garrick persona. Dude was all in Star Labs listening in on their plans to stop Zoom the entire time.
- When the Speed Force tells him that tragedies will happen in his future, he takes the message exactly the opposite of how it's intended and walks around acting like he's invincible
- And of course, Zoom killing his dad right in front of him. Which probably could've been prevented if he'd been less arrogant.
- And he ends the season by fukking up the timeline on some Flashpoint ish, which I'm sure he'll have to undo next season.
