Which is better for FL studio so i dont have all those latency issues and crazy skipping sounds? also, If you say laptop, i want it to hold all those big VSTS and such without problems and doesnt die too fast

when i be on youtube and see people using "FL Studios" on a laptop but i never know which brand and specs are on the laptop :yeshrug:

or

should i just get a desktop? the current desktop i got is a Dell and it seems to be pretty powerful for FL studios. I just sometimes wish i could use it on the go since i bounce from 2 houses alot.

P.S this is just for fukkin around making hot shyt as a hobby, so im not trying to spend much money, maybe 300 bucks

It depends on if you will be moving around to make beats. That's really the only determining factor to me because specs wise you can get basically the same on either. When it comes to the specs you should want at least an I5 processor and 8 gigs of memory even though I have worked with less but I wouldn't recommend it. sound card and all of that doesn't really matter if you feeding out to head phones or monitor.

My laptop was 1700 Euro though. 32 GB RAM, i7 Processor, 1 TB Harddisk.
I personally think laptops for 300 euro aren't fast enough for what i'm doing with all my plugins going at the same time. I use at least 15 channels with different effects on all my beats.

Desktops are much cheaper. I actually bought new parts in my desktop for 500 but than i started doing Sound-Design for work and i needed a laptop to move around to work.
You can get a superfast Desktop for $500 but laptops are more expensive.

It doesn't matter...

If you are just sampling and not using a lot of effects you can get away with an i3 processor on either a desktop or laptop....

If you are using VSTs and effects you need an i7...

It all comes down to the processor...Laptop is better because you can be mobile....

I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking a laptop since I'll need to be mobile.

How mobile are you trying to be? I had a mobile set up back in the day because I would go to my homies and make beats, him on his set up and me on mine with my lil 25 key midi keyboard-- that got a lil redundant then i had a girl whos crib i would chill at and if i slept over and had my gear and she got up and went to work at 630, id be lazy and sleep til 8 or 9 and instead of going home...i had everything there (my laptop and midi keyboard, my headphones) and I could bang them out there. once I got a good (decent) set up and created a workspace, that was it. Ive since moved and my workspace is in the basement, every once and again I want to make beats in other rooms of my house but all my gear is downstairs so that suck but my new crib just has a different set up than my old one. my old set up was in a sun room always bright, plenty of fresh air by opening a window or the screen door...

anyway how mobile do you intend on being?
