What appointments do you dread going to?

So it's the end of the year and in order to be healthy (but mostly so that I get to keep my health insurance discounts) I have my annual physical and dentist appointments this month.

I actually had my dental appointment today and have great teeth as usual (no cavities ever, btw).
But the dentist is telling me I've been delaying getting my wisdom teeth removed.

They actually don't cause me any pain, but I figure I'll get them out and sell one of you drug addicts the hydrocodone for some money on the side.

Going to the dentist is probably the one appointment I hate the most.
I'd rather deal with needles and the blood draining than sit in that dentist chair.

Anyone here have their wisdom teeth removed? What was that like?
Trying to prepare myself here...

I had mine out, but they were impacted, so that was BRUTAL. I looked like a legit chipmunk for over a week with the swelling. :sadbron:

When they're not impacted, I've heard the discomfort is minimal. I've seen people within a day or so that didn't take pain meds and looked/felt fine.

To answer the first question though- I HATE going to the dentist (go figure). It's subconscious. I literally can't even get my teeth cleaned without involuntarily shaking and tears coming out. No other fears but that. I actually have a mild prescription for valium to take before appts :manny:

I don't think they're impacted.
They just brush up against the inside of my cheek.
I don't even notice that it happens that much, honestly.

But the dentist says that the longer it happens, the more at risk i could be for infection. So I'll probably set up an appointment for January.

But wouldn't you have amazing teeth seeing as how you work in a dentist office?

You probably floss 3 times a day

At the beginning of mean streets
I had two wisdom teeth removed on the same day, and my dentist prescribed me oxycodone but I never used it. It wasn't too bad for me, I was able to heal pretty quickly (probably because I'm a bit of a health nut). The soreness was really bad, but that's about it. I hate going to the dentist though.

I don't really care to go to the doctor either though. I'm always told the same damn thing. I'm in pretty good health.

I get complimented a lot on my teeth. I am pretty anal about small imperfections. Speaking of, just bought the new sonicare today :win: can't wait for it to come in!
I used to have a sonicare like 5 years ago.
But I ended up never replacing the head and stopped using it.
Then I lost the bottom part.

It was a pain to use sometimes because I would try to use it "as directed" which was...the thing would automatically shut off after 2 minutes. So you're supposed to brush until it turns off. I guess they recommend that amount of time to make sure you're clean and hit all the areas.

You know how long it feels to brush your teeth for 2 minutes?
I think the average person brushes for like 45 secs or a minute.

Two minutes felt like...fukk, I'm gonna miss my train.

You're lucky to have healed pretty quickly.

Thanks for responding to a supposed racist.
