BoxingScene.com has been advised by Artie Pelullo, the head of Banner Promotions, that Demetrius Andrade (21-0, 14KOs), who unexpectedly pulled out of a December 13th bout against Jermell Charlo (which would've been televised on Showtime) - is back on track to face him in the spring after a holiday pow-wow.
"The future of Demetrius Andrade is that we're looking to fight Charlo - a fight that he turned down - and we're looking to do it some time in March or April and we're looking to get back on track with him being one of the best junior middleweights, middleweights in the world," said Pelullo, who met face-to-face with the fighter recently.
"We had a very good meeting, we had a great dinner together, Demetrius and I are on the same page with Joe DeGuardia, my partner. We're all on the same page and he wants to fight Charlo and we're going to that direction now."
'Boo Boo' is currently the reigning WBO 154-pound champion, with Charlo (25-0, 11KOs) the number one contender. In bypassing this match-up in December, he gave up a payday of around $400,000. It's not clear if he'll receive that amount moving forward.
When asked if his fighter made a mistake in not facing Charlo several weeks ago, Pelullo said diplomatically:
"I think that everything works out for the best and now Demetrius Andrade is going to fight Charlo and as I always thought when I first saw him fight in the (Amateur) World Championships in Chicago - he's one of the best at what he does in the world at '54 and '60. He's 26 years old and he's going to be a great champion for many years to come."
So who televises Andrade-Charlo?
"I think that Demetrius Andrade is one of the premiere stars that all premium cable networks will be interested in," said Pelullo, one of the rare promoters that can freely cut a deal with either HBO or Showtime.

Should be a high level boxing match with Andrade taking the W. I really think Andrade is underrated by alot of people, but he's nice with the hands.
