I liked both of the trailers for Pacific Rim...even a hack can't fukk up giant robots vs giant monsters let alone a dude with talent like del Toro.

He does announce new projects all the time but this is the one project he's worked his whole career for. Trust me, he's never stopped thinking about this, it's his dream project.

And whether or not this gets made isn't in his hands. He spent a ton of his own money and 3 months time building a presentation, nobody was interested. This was around a year ago. Now since "Pacific Rim" will most likely be a hit he's hoping it'll give him leverage to get "At The Mountains of Madness" started.

don't get me wrong, it was a good and memorable movie, but it was carried a lot by the cinematography and overall visual style
