Of course LL went on to continuing commercial success and Moe Dee's career didn't last. That's why people say LL won the battle.

But if you compare diss records in a vacuum, Moe Dee sonned him. Moe Dee dissed him on How You Like Me Now and LL hit him back with Less Than Zero. After Kool Moe Dee's career was already vanquished, LL gloated about it, "take your Star Trek shades off," etc. But the battle was mainly Jack The Ripper and Let's Go. Jack the Ripper was definitely a better song, but Let's Go had way harder and better disses.

So if you just go by whose career lasted and whose ended, LL obviously won. But if you try to rate who had the better disses, Moe Dee obviously won.

Jack the Ripper...

Let's Go...

"What does LL stand for..." :wow:

Who had the better delivery though:usure:

LL had the better delivery. Moe Dee went ham on that nikka though. You being someone who came up listening to Hit Em Up and Ether and stuff like that, Let's Go might not seem that hard-hitting, but back then, that was BRUTAL. I remember hearing it for the first time in my mom's car like :wow:

Probably why i never got into ''golden'' era hiphop, everything sounds primitive, i grew up late 90's/2000's

For me No Vaseline is the standard, and brutal is a strong word for any of they disses...id say they wuz about evenly matched, but Kool Mo Dee tried to play LL like a lil bum then LL came out and sold more records and had the more memorable career...he asked for a battle and never got it,but that's irrelevant bcuz I don't think LL wuz afraid...he wuz more succesful and had the delivery tat woulda went over well in a live battle when the rhymes about even....his delivery outmatches Kool Mo Dees slightly...him turnin the battle down is irrelevant to me....he won with the success and came with strong disses too....and the line "Crushed Kool Mo Dee,Hammer and Ice T's girl":krs: still stand the test of time,Ice T my nikka and I'm still :laff:...we call that beatin a dead horse
