Rich Brennan released by WWE, according to report
It was the logical conclusion following the changes to his online presence we told you about earlier, and according to Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet, that's because it's what happened.
Though Satin's sources still don't know why, they confirmed to him that Rich Brennan (real name Rich Bocchini) has been informed of his release by WWE.
Brennan is a Texan with sports broadcasting experience who came to WWE via Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion. He started in NXT and seemed on a fast track when he was promoted to SmackDown. With the hiring of Mauro Ranallo, he was cycled to backstage interviewing.
With Tom Phillips getting over as Corey Graves' regular play-by-play man on NXT and the interviewer and host position stacked with folks ranging from Renee Young to Kyle Edwards to the newly hired and immediately pushed Cathy Kelley, it seems there was no place to put Rich.
We'll let you know more tomorrow, when we likely get official confirmation from WWE and possibly more from Bocchini himself.
