I don’t know why we tried to make him a point guard for so long. He can’t run an offense and was better fit off ball.
Initially the issue was Phil wanted him as a triangle PG which is a basically a D&3 pg that was supposed to work beside Melo and KP. The summer they drafted him Phil was fired and Melo was traded. They then went and signed Timmy and had a glut at SG between Timmy and Courtney Lee.

I been saying from the moment they drafted him they began fukking up his development up to his last moments as a Knick when Thibs put him in cold in the playoffs to try and stop a Trae game winner.

Draft at #11 for what?

Knicks have vets at every position and young players who need time at every position. Why add another project?

They should package that pick and a player or two (preferably Dubious Handles) and try and get a real impact player to match with the roster they already have.

well we need a point guard for one, might need to find a Mitch replacement

and we need to find someone that we could potentially build around because Randle ain’t it

Main reason I think Dyson should be the pick. 1) he is clearly ok with being in the G-League and 2) he can be plugged in 1-3 so he is insurance for injuries. I also don’t think they let Mitch walk. I could be in denial, but Noel is the odd man out of the three centers on the roster.

Last thing the Knicks should do is draft a PG, because they won't be playing significant minutes for a couple years. You think a rookie PG is gonna come in and take playing time from Rose, IQ, and McBride? Nah.

They don't need to draft a center either. Even if Mitch walks I'll take Sims, Noel, and Taj running it back.

Bottom line, nobody the Knicks draft is going to make a significant impact this year. And they already have several young projects that need to get playing time. So they might as well package the pick and get an established player.

Berman is saying Dyson Daniels is our guy. Now watch him go one pick ahead of us.
Knicks need to move up and secure him, but yeah Berman was implying Dyson heavy. I stand by the fact that his best feature is they can move him 1-3 and he is ideal to send back to the G-League for a season because he is coming from there.

His shot is shakey, and he isn’t a freak athlete. He just fits what they are trying to do, and in this weak draft that is valuable.

His upside is really nice...I like Beauchamp too. Beauchamp kinda leaps off the screen more but he's older and I think Dyson Daniels has a way higher floor thanks to that multi-position defensive potential (and by potential, I mean potential to be elite).
