-Hayward and Rose huge injury risks

-R.J. and Randle still a trash fit

-Toppin still not free

Not with that at all
I didn’t say this is what I want, but this is what I expect from the Knicks. Rose and Hayward both expire at the same time for around $45 Mil. Those are contracts to trade in 2024 for teams that might want cap space and picks instead of losing a player for nothing in FA. Plan B that money can be spent keeping the youth too if the young core matures well.

I think they legit might move Randle but his value is too low. I don’t see them moving him for pennies on the dollar. That’s what I got from Dallas. He’s probably here next season.

why include Fournier in that trade for Hayward? Kemba gets it done.

Kemba and Fournier are part of the issue with the Knicks before Randle became a malcontent. Fournier’s contract is a little longer and honestly he is part of the problem with the defense. You can’t hide Randle defensively if Fournier is on the floor. At least Hayward plays defense and is a dynamic enough of a scorer (when healthy) Randle might be able to play off of him.

True. But the purpose of the Charlotte trade for for Charlotte to clear the books. Idk if they’d want Fournier who they would probably play off the bench.

You do have a point. The trade works without sending him out. They can do it Burks, Kemba, and Noel who are all expiring. Keeping Fournier too me isn’t ideal. Knicks would have to find another deal for him.

He actually played up to his contract so maybe they can move him for an expiring. Malik Beasley or Eric Gordon. Someone who can be a bench player and is expiring soon.

Kemba is only $9 mil on the books
The original hypothetical was Burks, Noel and Kemba for Hayward. Idea being the Hornets get to clear their books to make room for Lamelo and bridges. I don’t see the value in taking on money in 22 to save money in 23… i doubt they’re particularly high on Fournier to begin with.
