TAKEN: THE SEARCH FOR SOPHIE PARKER
No, this isn’t another sequel to the Liam Neeson franchise, but it’s not that far off, either. Eighteen-year-old Sophie Parker (Amy Bailey) flouts convention and visits Moscow for spring break instead of the usual Fort Lauderdale or Miami, for reasons utterly incomprehensible to everyone including her mother, New York City police detective Stevie Parker (played by Julie Benz of Buffy and Dexter fame). Of course she gets kidnapped and sold into sex slavery, so Detective Parker hops on a plane to Russia and proceeds to raise hell in Cyrillic while searching for her daughter.
