Let’s Get Free didn’t have no wack tracks either. Album was ahead of its time.

I’m gonna always still play It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop though. Mind Sex was a bit too sappy.
They used the same sample as Kanye’s Diamonds From Sierra Leone on Psychology.

Pre College Dropout Kanye wasn’t a nut back then and Lord Jamar was very underrated. His guitar strums were always on point.

I think 50 said that their type of
Music doesn’t sell and that he was a fan of the song “Hip Hop”…

50 did the same to the Mobb.

Luckily, 50 humbled himself and made sure that his favorite group was taken care of.

yep. it's what he said. Wasn't really a beef, but the wrong person would have took it the wrong way. He just basically said they don't sell records, which is true.

Dead Prez was always calling out crakkas at the labels which was ironic because they was on Loud Reocrds which was owned by Steve Rifkind…

Steve Rifkind was a hippie. With that being said, I’m surprised that they was on Sony Music.

Dead Prez was/is realer than 90% of the industry.

50 recognized the real just like he did with Mobb Deep.

To have 50 bring them up was a honor…

AZ didn’t take it seriously like that

yeah that was always shocking and their shows would be mostly white kids. That's why I've always respected Steve Rifkin. He gave Wutang a deal that had never been done before and he always let the artists be who they were on their albums. I remember when Dead Prez used to have people burning dollar bills at their concerts.

Fat Joe said that Steve Rifkind was impressed by gangsta shyt when they was about to sign Pun.
He also signed Mobb Deep and them off the strength of them rolling a blunt.

Steve knew the power of street promo.

And you’re definitely on point when u said that Steve let them be themselves. Trying to have a artist not be themselves is what happened to Rawkus Records
