DC Elementary School Teacher Makes Students Reenact the Holocaust, Jewish Student Played Hitler

This one actually has nothing to do with us as black people, but I find the story amusing in a morbid way. Whole story reads like an onion article. Can't be real.
What would possess an educator to make their students pretend to "dig mass Graves" for eachother? Irregardless of context, in what universe did this seem like a good idea?
Reminds me of those class assignments southern teachers like dishing out that implore their kids to empathize with slave masters.
Whole story is stupid all around. Whoever hired that teacher should also be fired cause it shows a lack of good judgment.

This woman graduated college and most likely held a masters degree and she still thought it was a good idea.
I came in here praying it wasn’t my elementary school. Thankfully it’s not.
I don’t understand why these teachers would think re-enacting genocidal atrocities is what’s necessary to learn about them, there’s no justification for it. A lesson plan reading about it is enough.

Yeah that shyt boggles the mind. When I was in elementary school in the early 90s
, we learned about historical events by actually reading about them or watching movies relevant to the topic.
