DC
The internet went crazy this week when Forbes named DC America's Coolest City(http://www.forbes.com/sites/erincar...d-c-tops-our-list-of-americas-coolest-cities/) New Yorkers and Angelenos went on full joke mode clowning on what they think they know about DC....but in terms of livability, culture, food, activities, higher learning....I think Forbes got it right.

I grew up in this area and remember how it used to look during the early 90s....shyt wasn't pretty. Since then, the city has

'ed many neighborhoods(they got Georgia Ave now?!? :damn:), which for good or bad has brought tons of new restaurants and bars all over the city.

The bikeshare program makes getting around the city easy and affordable. Some of the dedicated bike lanes had me feeling like I was in Amsterdam

. I came up for the weekend and am staying in a hotel near the convention center. I've been able to leave my car parked the whole time and get everywhere I need to on a bike.

Weed was just decriminalized and the city's medical marijuana is just taking off. I copped some loud near Dupont yesterday, walked down to Rock Creek Park, and went to Pluto at one of one the most peaceful spots right in the middle of the city.

Last night, I was wandering around U st...came up on a random gogo/brass band partying right on the sidewalk.

I love living in Los Angeles, but cotdammit if I don't miss the DC ur-rea:to:

Norfeast groovin…
The real DC is where its at. The slang, the style, the food, the culture is just wonderful. Some of the funniest nikkaz you'll ever meet are DC nikkaz, Martin and Dave was so genius partly cuz of this place imo. Diverse population of Black people, international flavor, it don't got the size of LA or the restlessness of NYC but the most powerful city in the world can't have everything. :yeshrug:

Ward 7-8 is still holding on. But the cac invasion has begun on that side too. In another 10 years DC may become a giant Old Town Alexandria......fukkin disgusting. :stopitslime: :snoop:

Even as a CAC, I can cosign this. Went I was at De La Soul at Howard Theater a few weeks ago, I was chatting up a girl that I met that night about this. We're pretty good about turning areas into soul-less, cookie cutter, boring zones. It even bugs me. I remember years ago that if it wasn't for 9:30 Club, white people wouldn't come around that part of Georgia Ave, now that's all I see.

Same goes for Howard Theater, the whole area had me :mindblown: especially w/ the gay bars around there.

it's the truth.
best city ever....I love this place :eddie:
PAWGS, lightskinned women, Latina's, Darkbutts (for those of you who are into that :what1: )

Nice restaurants and a good job. As a young educated black man, this place is damn near close to heaven minus South East :whoa:

The government contracts has me eating out here like crazy.

I love DC even with all the changes. Im currently riding back from an absolutely awesome weekend there a$s I type. Met and bagged some fine as black women, and enjoyed the company of my people. Reggae concerts in rock creek on friday night, rolling the marley and enjoying some Marley. And Im a NYCer. I'll actually be interviewing in DC on Friday. Im ready to make the jump back. To get anything like the DC experience, you have to go to BK. Manhattan is wack sauce.
