Official JOKER Thread (SPOILERS)

An intriguing part is the setting. The intention is to make a gritty and grounded hard-boiled crime film set in early-’80s Gotham City that isn’t meant to feel like a DC movie as much as one of Scorsese’s films from that era, like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull or The King Of Comedy. I’m told that Phillips and Silver are writing already, but there is nothing firm on where this will fit into the DC schedule.
I saw this on Deadline and went 
but then I saw Scorsese is producing it and they're going for a Taxi Driver vibe and I went to 
. I need to know what Todd and his partner wrote that got Scorsese interested and wanting to be a part of a comic book film so count me intrigued based on that alone. I still think a joker origin flick is a terrible idea but I'm sure someone said the same thing about the killing joke 30 years ago. Plus Scorsese

why is DC so damn impatient? who's running their film department, an excited 11 year old? "and then we're gonna make this. an-an-and then this! and this guy's getting a movie, and that guy's getting a movie!!!"

Meaning you need a hell of a young actor to pull it off. And it has to be so different from burton'a vision
