So for that album alone he really is the 2nd best producer of the West, right?
Doggystyle is considered 1 of the greatest albums of all time and it was a ground breaking album

Just was reading Suge's interview w/ Rolling Stone magazine again from a few years ago
Suge Knight Says Daz Dillinger Ghost-Produced Most Of "Doggystyle" For Dr. Dre

What do you remember about Doggystyle's production?
Suge: [It] was was pretty much luck. Everybody thought [Dr. Dre] would be doing the records, but Daz pretty much did the whole album. And at the end of the day, once Daz finished it, everybody wanted Andre to get the credit. Next thing I know Daz is having a meeting with Andre and them and came back and said, "It's okay, give me a few bucks and I'll sign anything over that says produced by Andre instead of me."

And watching these Daz interviews again

nah I'm not doubting Daz involvement but there's a reason why The Chronic, Doggystyle and Dogg Food are all classics and Daz never appeared on anything close to that afterwards.

But neither did Dre :mjpls:
Those albums were a team effort (Warren & Daz bringing in samples for The Chronic, Dre mixing on all those albums, Quik mixing on Dogg Food)
But it seems like Daz definitely didn't get credit for a lot of beats he actually produced; instead he got paid instead of getting proper credits for beats he produced.
Daz's RAW album is that shyt!
It ain't on the level of The Chronic or Doggystyle, but it's definitely some high quality shyt.

No denying that but 2001 is a classic and there's a ton of classic production credits to Dre since including even the Relapse album. Them beats he laced for Em were :wow:

Honestly, I'd say for as good as much of the production on The Chronic 2001 is, I'd saw RAW is just as good, even more consistent for the 2nd half of the album too.
I hear u tho
Daz done produced a lot of gems over the years; joint for T.I., joint for Curren$y, that Daz and Makaveli EP, a bunch of unreleased shyt.

Doggystyle wasn't produced like a standard hip hop album though. It wasn't like one man sat there with an MPC and a bunch of records....

there were a lot of really talented session musicians involved that probably deserve as much credit as Dre or Daz......if not more....

Didn't I already say it was a team effort? :beli:
Of course it was a lot of talented session musicians involved.
But I agree, they played a very important part as well.

they're also more musically relevantthan Daz has been for 20 years :russ:

Doesn't change the fact they make some of the shyttiest music :lolbron:

The music Daz produced in his prime > them clowns' music

Daz produced on The Chronic, Doggystyle, Dogg Food and All Eyez On Me.
That's a legacy of timeless and classic music.
Not none of that wack ass bullshyt gimmick clown ass music. :mjlol:
