Is he one of the best examples of a missed hall of fame music career? This dude could have been an absolute legend...only recorded a handful of tracks. Those who watched breaking bad heard "Didn't I"

Here is the track:

Here is him trying to play it...after not playing it for 30 years

Here is the scene from Breaking Bad (shytty quality)

He died last year just as his work from the 70's was being recognized...crazy. At least he was able to stick around to see how many people loved the short amount of music he created.

So much mythology surrounding him, so I'm not sure why things didn't work out like they should have. He is definitely one of the most talented guys that never got the shine he needed. When Ubiquity Records released all his works, I went in, even bought the shirt. Great label for old forgotten artist that never got there due. Anyways, im ramblin', I'll leave you with this. :whew: my joint.

That track is flames. With that song and "Didn't I" who knows what Darondo could have become. Didn't I is his masterpiece though

As far as his work not getting out? It was supposedly a feud that stretched out way too long. shyt is almost tragic that the disagreement robbed us potentially 30+ years of great music.

Yeah, there was the dispute with his manager. But, even Darondo said he wasn't taking music serious at that time, it was just a hobby. I'm sure there a lot of kept reasons why he said that. But, soon after that he went to college and moved away from music entirely. So, the matter of his music catalog being so small, I would put on Darondo himself. Even in that video you posted, he said he hadn't played "Didn't I" in 30 years, that's very telling.
