Fourteen people are dead and dozens are injured following a shooting at Friday night's midnight showing of the "The Dark Knight Rises" at a mall in Aurora, Colo., police told KUSA-Denver.

One suspect is in custody, police said.

"A lot of people thought the gunshots were part of the movie," Brenda Stuart, of 850 KOA radio in Colorado, told Britain's Sky News.

Swedish Medical Center of Englewood, Colo., was told to prepare for mass casualties, a hospital official told KUSA-Denver.

Eyewitnesses said the shooter may have been wearing a gas mask, Stuart told Sky News.

Hayden Miller told KUSA-TV told KUSA-TV that he was inside the theater and heard several shots. He told the station that at first he thought it was part of a louder movie next door. But then he saw "people hunched over leaving theater."

Aurora is located on the outskirts of Denver.

Funny thing is I was just watching the latest episode of "Through the Wormhole" and the episode was dedicated to understanding evil( Can We Eliminate Evil? ).

The first thing that popped through my mind, was what went through this guys mind when he decided to gun through with this heinous crime, besides being an out of the loop psychopath.

This Dark Knight Rampage, reminded me about this seemingly normal man, who had a wife, came from a suburban home, was a bank teller, was an engineering student, and had a strong support system of people who loved him, yet he went on an indiscriminate shooting rampage at UT Austin, in 1966. It later turned out, this guy had a large tumor about the size of a walnut, which was pressing on a region of the brain involved with fear and aggression....

It's ridiculous really. I haven't read up to much on it yet, but that Locker Room thread should have been in here anyway. I need to get the Higher Learning description edited. It should read something like the places for "Breaking News, Business, Education, Politics and Debate."

Right now it operates like a personal book club, I love you brehs, but it's like the same 15 people posting and that's why things get stale sometimes. Even if the debate here is more "civilized" (that varies) less people participate and I think other perspectives get lost in that. I would've gone about this sooner if I wasn't so busy right now.
