WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (30-0, 17KOs) has answered the call of former three division champion Adrien Broner (30-1, 22KOs).
Last night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Garcia won a close twelve round majority decision over Lamont Peterson in the Premier Boxing Champions main event on NBC. Broner, who is very close with Peterson, was sitting ringside.
Not long after the contest, Broner issued a challenge to Garcia to fight him in September at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"Great fight Garcia and Lamont .....I'm happy nobody got severely hurt I got love for both fighters but Lamont is closer to me so I was going for him .... Now I got all that out the way this is my message to my friend my homie Danny Garcia heal up well and get back in the gym and fight me in September in Vegas at the MGM GRAND...... Let's get this money and go to rehab together on Sunday #AboutBillions #DSG #BusinessBeforeBrothers"
BoxingScene.com asked Garcia about the challenge, and Garcia said he's ready to fight Broner next but in Philadelphia, which is Garcia's hometown.
"We do that next in Philly. Bring it to Philly," Garcia told BoxingScene.com.
