One of the most wanted roles in Hollywood is, undoubtedly, that of James Bond. The British secret agent has been gracing the big screen for over five decades and there are no signs of him stopping anytime soon. After Sam Mendes’ Spectre saw the light, the current James Bond, Daniel Craig, made certain comments about his desire to to another Bond film, although he’s contractually obligated to do one more.

Since then, various names have surfaced as possible successors for Craig: from Idris Elba (Luther) to Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager), but all of them have been nothing more than rumors. Truth is that there’s one more Bond film on the list, Bond 25, and contrary to what everyone believes after Craig’s statements during Spectre’s press tour, he seems willing to put on the suit and drink a martini once more.

At the New Yorker Festival last Friday, Craig took the stage to discuss his life and career, and, of course go back to the good old question: will he be willing to play James Bond again? Recalling his answer about “slitting his wrists,”Craig suggested he is not quite done with the character yet and could be coming back for one more film.

“They say that s*** sticks, and that definitely stuck. It was the day after filming [stopped on Spectre]. I’d been away from home for a year.”

That certainly make sense. Spectretook the cast and crew to multiple locations such as México, Austria, Morocco, and Italy, which – combined with the physicality required for the role – clearly took a toll. Craig went on to explain that there have been “no conversations” about the next film as “everyone’s a bit tired,” but he would still be up for one more Bond adventure.

“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got the best job in the world. I’ll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it. If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly.”

Spectre is the fourth Bond movie with Craig on the lead – preceded by Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall. Spectre brought elements from the previous titles giving it a sort of closure that could work if Daniel Craig was not to come back for Bond 25. However, the heads of the Bond franchise – Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli – as well as producer Callum McDougall are up for Craig’s return, even having him as first choicefor Bond 25, and now with Craig also willing to go back, we can only hope they will make an announcement on the status of the next Bond film soon.

Until then, we will see Craig in Steven Soderbergh’s comedy-heist movie Logan Lucky, alongside Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and Sebastian Stan, and the TV adaptation of the novel Purity, where he also serves as producer.
