Notorious Bedford-Stuyvesant drug kingpin Damion “World” Hardy, 40, was banished to prison for the rest of his days on Monday along with his remorseless hit man.
Hardy, who once luxuriated in a New Jersey mansion with the rapper at the apex of his illicit power, was convicted last month of a slew of federal raps including six slayings.
The former leader of the “Cash Money Brothers” crew operated out of the Lafayette Gardens housing project and drew inspiration from the ruthless tactics of the eponymous gang from the classic 1990s crack flick “New Jack City.”
The Brooklyn federal courtroom gallery was packed with the seething relatives of the men Hardy ordered henchman Aaron “Ebay” Granton to kill.
While Granton slouched disinterestedly and occasionally nodded off as she spoke, the daughter of one of his victims cursed him after reading a statement.
“F—-g bytch,” Epiphany Baum said as her father’s killer looked away.
Baum’s brother, Darryl Baum, was once a bodyguard for former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. He was also murdered at Hardy’s behest in 2000.
That slaying sparked mutual threats of violence between the Bed-Stuy drug boss and the Brownsville boxer that never materialized.
A weeping sister of Baum’s told the court that Hardy was simply an insecure coward who killed to sate his fragile ego.
“I feel you are an incredibly dangerous, selfish, vicious, disloyal and insecure soul who killed because it empowered you,” Zakiya Baum said through tears.
The former star of the now defunct TLC show “Starter Wives,” Baum also has a child with Brooklyn rapper Maino.
Hardy was reportedly engaged to Lil’ Kim before his mental state plummeted after a trip to the Middle East. His attorneys argued that he was mentally unfit to stand trial after a schizophrenia diagnosis but Judge Frederic Block deemed him just sane enough to face a jury.
Previously prone to loud outbursts in court, Hardy was heavily medicated during the proceeding and looked on in a daze Monday.
Given the opportunity to speak, he offered no remorse during a one-sentence statement. “I am 100 percent, completely innocent,” he said as audience members grumbled.
Granton offered a vague apology before blasting the relatives of his victims as hypocrites. The murderer suggested that they all benefited from the drug operation when it was riding high during the late ’90s.
“All y’all stood around me and ate candies out of my pocket,” Granton said with a toothless snarl.
“Sit down!” yelled one man in the audience.
“We didn’t kill nobody!” said another.
Block made the mandatory sentence official and reminded the court that the men had once faced the death sentence and were lucky to escape with their lives.
“The jury might well have imposed a death penalty in this case,” Block said.
The proceeding complete, the doomed gangsters turned and smiled at their smattering of supporters as the opposite side of the gallery exploded in applause.
