I'm not pulling a Sophie's Choice here.
Trouble Man was the better song, but I think Pusherman means more to most people. Be it a memory of someone in the family playing the song, or just the vibe and the bassline being so undeniable. Marvin had the better skills, but man if Curtis ain't find a way to maximize what he had for this particular song.

Had to bump this thread. Find myself listening to both songs recently.
Didnt do deep research, but Mayfield's songs came out in summer of 72. And Troubleman came out in December of 72.
I know Marvin was hearing Pusherman and was like
