Really...who dictate what words are wrong and right?

We change the meaning and intent of words all the time. What causes the word p*ssy or dikk to be wrong but vagina and penis to be acceptable?

I actually use to think Curse Words and Profanity were actually different. I remember thinking Cursing as..wishing bad things or demeaning a person Such as..damn u, go to hell...I hope you die etc. (more so Intent) while Profanity was just a list of words people say you couldnt use.

I think we focus more on the words and classifying them as profanity or cursing. I think it all about intent but some how we now have a word bank of whats wrong or right.

I feel if I say to you..you will never amount to anything you stupid worthless and nobody loves you.is more so cursing/cussing/profanity than saying..".this song right here is my shyt."

thoughts?

I always wondered the origin of naughty words. I assumed back in the middle ages that certain words were used to wish ill on people as a curse but your right that doesn't make sense.

The one thing I do realize is that it makes our vocabulary lazy when it used heavily.

Good question.

I always wonder why stuff like aint, naw, fixin too can't be words

I meant are words "words" because enough people adopted it into their everyday language.

First of all, "bad" words differ from place to place. They had to re-name "The Spy Who Shagged Me" in the UK cause that's like putting up a sign saying "The Spy Who F***ed Me" in the US. The word "rubber" means pencil eraser in the UK. "faq" is a cigarette ETC

Secondly, the words themselves aren't bad, but we have to designate some words as bad. You have to be able to go from "darn" to "motherf***ing bulls***" when the occasion calls for it. SOme people have to be able to claim that they don't cuss at all so that they can play a certain role and some people (read: 2012's so called rappers) have to cuss every other word so they can play a certain role. No self respecting suburban teen would dare bang a rap song with less than 472 curse words. It has to be something that they hide from their parents and in turn horrify other citizens with at a stop light.

Lastly, if we were to get rid of all the current curse words, other words would just take their place. My grandaddy used to yell at us as kids for saying "dag" cause he knew we meant "damn".

Here's sort of the opposite phenomenon: every 20 years minorities and people with disabilities re-name themselves (notice I didn't use "handicapped" becuase - even though the owrd itself is pretty neutral - "handicapped" is a bad word nowadays). "Urban" is the new code word for "******" but it hasn't had time to pick up all the bad karma associated with America's relationship to her former human livestock. In the near future, "African-American" will be replaced with some other term and join "Colored" "Negro" and of course "******" as offensive... watch.

I never understood why "midget" and "retard" became bad words. I guess cause so many people use them as a dis (like Hip Hop usues "gay" and "faq" - not to refer to actual homosexuals, but to insult non gays, inanimate objects, and abstract ideas).

We have bad words because we need them psychologically. It doesn't have to be "fukk" it can just as easily be "shag".

The orgin of shyt is when ships would be carrying dung they would write the letters S.H.I.T (ship high in transit) in big letters to let others know of the precious cargo.

The orgin of fukk is in the middle ages certain places had very strict laws, some would even require you to ask permission to get some pussay thus fornicating under consent of king became the modern day fukk.

I was gona make this same thread

For example, if someone cursed u out in another language, you wouldnt know what they're saying to you. They could say it in a nice tone and you'd think they're just talking to you.

But if somoene says one curse word in English, all of a sudden, ppl are "offended and appalled".

It's really all according to what YOU may/may not understand. So then how does it become an accepted right or wrong?

Hmmm...

I don't recall reading this anywhere in particular. Before you said you had heard of it I would have said I came up with it on my own. Perhaps I did pick it up somewhere :scheme:
