Following a controversial decision to score Saturday's fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez a draw, experienced Las Vegas boxing judge C.J. Ross has taken a leave of absence from working fights for the immediate future, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
In a bout that to most looked drastically one-sided in Mayweather's favor, Ross scored the fight 114-114. Craig Metcalfe of Canada and Dave Moretti of Las Vegas were the fight's other two judges; each had Mayweather winning by scores of 117-111 and 116-112.

While some leaves of absence are met with sadness, there is no one that will miss Ross scoring fights. This is also the same judge that had a wild scorecard for the Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley fight that had people up in arms.
Not only are fans happy to see Ross taking a step away, NAC chairman Bill Brady seemed happy in his own right.
