Imo, like the lil b shyt...and cormega and others saying they respect what he's doing...dude was obviously trolling and shyt...not mad at his success..
People were afraid of the backlash ice t got for calling Soulja boy wack.
I definitely agree, it got loose with the standards.
But even back then, I was slowly falling out of love with it. I am hip hop, will always be.
Even without wanting commercial success per se, it was really offensive as a creative.
There was always way more balance.
