The Crips are waving a white flag in the battle over Nipsey Hussle's famous slogan, and also apologizing to the late rapper's family while offering to hand over all the intellectual property.

An official for Crips LLC, the official company formed on behalf of the Crips street gang, tell The Blast, "there will absolutely be no trademark legal battle between their organization and Blacc Sam, brother of the late Nipsy Hussle."

The statement adds that the company, "respectively vows to support the wishes of Lauren London and the Asghedom family."

The Blast first reported the news that both the Crips and Nipsey's brother, Blacc Sam, had filed trademark applications for "The Marathon Continues."

The Crips say, "We realize that our actions may have been offensive and we have reached out to his family, respectively Nips sister, Samantha Smith."

William King Hollis, the corporate communications director for the Crips LLC, tells us, "We are deeply sorry for any disruptions and melee that the trademark acquisition may have caused to his family, friends and fans."

Hollis also explains that he had been in contact with Nipsey, before his untimely death, and the two had agreed to work together on a "mutual collaboration" for "The Marathon Continues."

He says there was no malice when applying for the trademark, and adds that currently there are no members in the LLC who were members of Nipsey's crew, or the Rolling 60's Crips.

The organization is now prepared to turn over the trademark to Nipsey, although because it has not been fully processed they can probably just file to abandon their own application and let Blacc Sam's go through.

They are also offering to donate all the proceeds from an upcoming Bloods & Crips-themed beverage.

being they were an LLC, they really didnt have to apply for the trademark.. they couldve just ran a limited number of products, and got a cease & desist..

all in all.. pretty strange they went after the trademark so quickly.. especially without getting the greenlight from TMC, or his estate..

I knew you were going to tag me as soon as I saw this flash on the screen :pachaha:

Im man enough to admit this basically proves what I was saying was wrong. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that you shouldn't try to eat off a phrase that should feed his kids, they knew what they were doing.

Nipsey Hussle Involved in Shootout with Former Manager & LAPD

The LAPD are still investigating an officer involved shooting that took place Friday evening at Crenshaw and Slauson in South Los Angeles. The LAPD had been responding to a fight between Los Angeles based rapper Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom, 25, and his former manager Eugene “Big U” Henley.

The two were once close business partners when the rapper signed with Cinematic/Epic records in 2007. Plans to release his first studio album, South Central State of Mind, were to follow after his three mixtapes from the series Bullets Aint Got No Name were an instant hit on the underground, but that album was never released.

This evening the two men got into physical altercation near the alley at the rear of the Shell gas station at Crenshaw and Slauson in Hyde Park. According to eye witnesses, Nipsey’s brother, Samiel Asghedom pulled out a gun to defend his brother and fired into the air to end the conflict. That’s when an LAPD officer arrived on the scene and fired at the brother, missing him.

According to LAPD Sergeant Ron Lopez, no one was hit and five people were taken into custody. Sgt. Lopez told streetgangs.com that no one has been booked yet, so the names of those five individuals have not been released, but we know that Henley, Nipsey and his brother were taken into custody Friday night and are being held at LAPD’s 77th Division.
