Ok, so last year, I opened up a Orchard Bank credit card online with a $300 limit. I maxed the card out, making only one small payment :lolbron:

I all but almost forgot about the credit card when I get a notice in the mail today saying HSBC is involved in a class-action lawsuit and I'm entitled to a settlement. I was enrolled in the debt cancellation program so I qualify to get paid. I know how this all works having worked for several employers in the past who got sued for not giving employee breaks, getting checks for their actions long after I worked for them. I still get Wal-Mart checks between $150-$400 annually since 2007 and I haven't worked at the Sam's Club I was employed at since 2003. :obama:

I plan to use whatever I get from the settlement to pay off the card. Hopefully, I'll get enough from the settlement check to pay it all off. Its only about $400 I owe from the credit card , but it would be a :win:  to pay this off without using any of my own money.
