- The country music star's song 'Try That in a Small Town' interlaced clips of BLM protests with lyrics on Southern values
- The divisive song was released by the hit-maker just days before he suffered a dramatic heatstroke on stage
Aldean, 46, released the gun-toting, anti-woke song Friday, just days before he suffered a severe heatstroke on stage in Hartford, Connecticut.
But the singer is facing the heat again for his latest track, which interlaced clips of BLM protestors vandalizing cities with lyrics endorsing traditional values and 'taking care of our own.'
Aldean opens the song: 'Cuss out a cop, spit in his face. Stomp on the flag and light it up. Yeah, ya think you're tough? Try that in a small town.'
The music video was met with backlash among some who felt the lyrics were dog-whistles intended to offend, while others saw it as a commentary on America's sharp divides.

Despite reminders and warnings about the sensitivities around racial and cultural appropriation, Halloween remains the holiday during which white people don dark paint as part of their costumes.
The latest is country music star Jason Aldean. A picture of him wearing blackface surfaced last week, according to the Nashville Gab.
The photo shows Aldean dressed in a wig of long black dreadlocks, a red bandanna, black sunglasses and with brown paint on his face standing with his wife and some friends dressed up for Halloween.
Aldean “dressed as rapper Lil Wayne” for the holiday, a representative for the singer told the Guardian.
